GAMJI FOUNDATION LAUNCHES HIA PRIZE FOR EXCELLENCE TO SUPPORT OUTSTANDING STUDENTS IN KATSINA

A major opportunity has been introduced for high-achieving students in Katsina State as the Gamji Foundation launches the HIA Prize for Excellence, a program designed to reward academic dedication and support young talents in their educational journey.

The initiative is being led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Power and Energy, Dr. Hafiz Ibrahim Ahmed, whose continued efforts are focused on promoting education and empowering youth across communities. The program aims to encourage students to strive for excellence while providing financial assistance to ease their transition into university life.

The HIA Prize for Excellence will cover seven selected local government areas in Katsina State. These include Baure, Bindawa, Mashi, Zango, Kusada, Sandamu, and Dutsi. The program specifically targets students who are indigenes of these areas, ensuring that the support reaches those within the designated communities.

To be eligible, a student must be from one of the listed local government areas and must have scored at least 220 in the 2026 JAMB UTME examination. This requirement ensures that only students with strong academic performance are considered for the award.

Under the program, the top-performing student in each of the seven local government areas will receive a total award of one hundred and fifty thousand naira. The payment will be structured in two phases. Seventy-five percent of the award will be paid immediately to assist the student at the beginning of their university education, while the remaining twenty-five percent will be released after the student completes their first year with a cumulative grade point average of 4.5 or above. This structure is designed to reward excellence and also encourage sustained academic performance.

For further inquiries or additional information, interested individuals can contact the foundation via email at info@gamji.org.

This initiative reflects a strong commitment to investing in education and building a brighter future for the youth of Katsina State.
